The one-way Firehole Lake Drive takes you to geysers and thermal features. Several pullouts along the drive make it easy to admire these natural wonders. Busses and RVs are not allowed to drive that road. In general it is not as busy as the Upper Geyser Basin.

Truly a must see in the park is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. We enjoyed breathtaking views and admired the power of the river. Seeing the rushing Lower Falls spilling down 94 m (308 ft) into the narrow canyon below is really mesmerizing.

Back in the valley Bisons are a common sight, but we also found our first Pronghorns. The Pronghorn evolved in North America 20 million years ago. As a member of the superfamily Giraffoidea, the pronghorn's closest living relatives are the giraffes and okapi.
