Yellowstone NP, part III

To get some sunrise photos, our alarm clock rang at 4:30 in the morning. To arrive on time at a photogenic site of the madison river, we drove off when it was still dark. Tired and freezing, my girlfriend waited inside of our car. Meanwhile I disappeared in the dark, trying to find the perfect spot for the sunrise picture I had in my mind.
I guess it is not (always) easy to have a nature photographer as a boyfriend...
thank you so much for your support and patience, Samira!

After we had warmed up and rested a little, we drove to Norris Geyser Basin. On the way there we stopped to take a look at the Gibbon Falls.

The rest of our time in YNP, we spent at the Madison River. Among others, we saw a nicely posing male Elk (Cervus canadensis), a cute little Boreal Chorus Frog (Pseudacris maculata) and several Wandering Garter Snakes (Thamnophis elegans vagrans).

Yellowstone National Park is probably one of the most beautiful places on our planet. The stunning and unique landscapes and the diverse wildlife are simply overwhelming. We had an amazing time and we hope to visit YNP  again... some day.
